Probiotics – Information and Research
Lactobacillus Bulgaricus (LB) is a special type of bacteria, which is significantly different from other probiotic bacteria. LB has a vegetable origin – formed by green plants, milk and dairy products. In natural conditions, bacteria can be opened in the roots and bark of an oak (Quecus), flowers in Bulgarian rose (Rosa damascena), dogwood common (Cornus mas), Jerusalem thorn tree (Paliurus), etc.
Once it’s consumed and mixed with the food in the human colon, the bacteria multiply rapidly and in a few hours up to hundreds of millions in 1 gram of mass. Quite often it is advised to tak probiotics in a form of probiotic foods. Unlike other probiotic bacteria, as Lactobacilus acidophillus, Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus Bulgaricus others is not a permanent inhabitant of human colon. If it is not always entered into the body, 10 – 15 days disappears from the body.
Lactobacillus Bulgaricus is different from other bacteria that live independently in nature and only in lactic acid fermentation in the human body and it cooperates with certain types of probiotic bacteria. This symbiosis allows the maximum stronger stimulation of immune system, anticancer, antibacterial, detoxicating, antiatherosclerotic, and other useful qualities of Lactobacillus Bulgaricus. Lactobacillus Bulgaricus unique bacteria grows in natural baleen only a certain geographic areas, which coincides with the territory of modern Bulgaria and ancient Thrace. This is probably due to the fact that over the last glacial period, these territories are not covered with ice that preserved the unique micro-organisms and plants not found elsewhere. Outside the territory of Bulgaria Lactobacillus Bulgaricus mutates and evolves.
A transfer of Lactobacillus Bulgaricus from nature to produce unique products through fermentation of lactic acid – this is the first targeted selection of microorganisms for the purposes (in service) rights, and the resulting products – the first probiotic food, which more than 6,000 years. Lactobacillus Bulgaricus with its unique food and medicinal properties is the world”s wealth. The most important requirement for probiotic bacteria is their ability to continue living in their passage through the upper sections of the gastrointestinal tract. There they are influenced by various factors such as: gastric acidity, the state of stomach acids, chemical substances in the juices. Probiotic bacteria strains must be of high quality, which allows them to pass this barrier and reach the living and in sufficient quantities to the colon, where they inhabit and reproduce.
Probiotic bacteria have a positive impact on the human intestinal mucosa to colonize the intestine and begin to make important life enzymes and cellular bio-products. Probiotic bacteria are not permanent residents of the microbial flora of a man, so they need to be taken with food on a regular basis and for a long time to feel their positive effects on health. Probiotics include live microorganisms (bacteria) that are part of the normal intestinal microflora of healthy humans. Preparations based probiotics are used both independently and in yogurt and other dairy products. These include lactobacilli, bifid bacteria and sometimes yeast. Probiotics do not cause any side effects, not causes of pathologies and may be stored in the refrigerator. Probiotics – the ideal substance for the diet that normalize bowel movements and reduced its microflora, which may be compromised due to stress, chronic illness or frequent use of antibiotics.
There are several health benefits of probiotics:
. The impact on the anti-defence mechanisms;
. Improving the barrier function;
. Metabolic effects;
. Changes in motor activity and bowel function.
Probiotics and prebiotics are different concepts.
Combination of probiotics and prebiotics is called synbiotics. Non-digestible prebiotics, falling into the large intestine, create favourable conditions for survival and reproduction of bacteria that makes a positive impact on human health.
